Your blog has helped with a lot of information I wouldn’t have otherwise expected; thank you. I will also be coming to Hirosaki. One question, if I may; one, do we pay for textbooks, and if so, generally how much?
Thanks for the complement! As for textbooks, you do have to pay for them, but they were much cheaper than I expected (compared to the US), about 3000-4000 yen for a set of Minna No Nihongo I textbooks. The other classes that I took didn’t require any textbooks. Cheers!
Thanks man – your blog is literally the only detailed source of info out there on being a Hirosaki exchange student and I found it really helpful and insightful – thanks for making ti easier knowing what to expect.
No problem Ame, I love the comments and questions! There is a gym here, but to be honest it is really old and worn down. The basketball courts are nice, though. If you want to go to a better gym, there are some out in town and if you sign up for this particular card at the beginning of the semester, you can go for free.

Hi Joe,
Sorry to keep graffitiing your blog like this, but I meant to ask as well – is there a gym at the university?
Nice video by the way, have fun in Korea.
